Random Act of Kindness week

The children in Room 9 are always trying their best to be kind and considerate of others and it was nice to celebrate this last week for Random Act of Kindness week. Everyday instead of talking about their feelings we had a complement circle where the children would give each other complements about kind things that each had done. It was so nice and made everyone feel so special that it is something that we will continue on every now and again.

We also did some writing about being kind to our friends and the types of things that we could and already do!

Here are some examples of our kindness writing:

Language of learning

At Reremoana school we have our language of learning (LOL). These are the things that we do to support our learning in the classroom. There is 'Reflecting, connecting, collaborating, questioning, be creative and be resilient.

On a Friday in Room 9 we celebrate the children that have been doing these things during the week by presenting certificates after reading.

Here are this weeks awesome learners:

Well done to Luke - for sharing his awesome ideas about road safety.
Tina - for helping other children in the class with their learning
Kathy - for also helping other children in the class with their learning
and Isaac- for making good choices all week.

Telling the time

In Room 9 we have been learning to tell the time with a focus on o'clock and half past. I have been amazed with how quickly the children have picked this up and how excited they have been learning about this. Here is a song about telling the time that we have been singing in class...
